Soft start-up for lamp heaters

Challenge

A lamp heater is suitable for fast ramp-up, but it causes high inrush current.

Especially in the case of multiple heaters, it is essential to suppress inrush current if solid-state relays are used. In some cases, a lamp heater is used with a phase controller, but it causes considerable noise and takes up a lot of space.

Solution

Omron offers optimum cycle control with a soft-start function, which can control multiple solid-state relays perfectly, while suppressing the inrush current and noise. It enables both high-precision, zero cross-control for lamp heaters and results in cost and space reductions. Furthermore, burn-out detection with cycle control is possible, as is serial communication with a controller. This is a solution for multiple lamp heaters with single-loop control.
