

Challenge
In a reflow oven, an optimized temperature profile is required. But a stable and optimized temperature profile depends on the heater lay-out and distributed power.
When not in use, the system should be switched off for energy saving. Once started up, the temperature has to be ramped-up rapidly with an optimized profile.
If a problem occurs in the oven, it needs to be detected as soon as possible to prevent defective products. Furthermore, the temperature trace needs to be stored for quality control purposes.
Solution
Multiple heaters can be controlled with one loop, distributing the optimized power proportionately. Power distribution for heaters can be designed freely.
The cycle controller can communicate with a programmable process controller or modular temperature controller.
The former enables quick change-overs and affords complete line management. It also enables the tracing and storage of production records with one controller.
