Alignment mark positioning

Challenge

For accurate positioning, the position of an alignment mark or edge has to be measured precisely. Various surface conditions make accurate measurement difficult. For quick positioning, the measured date has to be sent to motion controllers at high speed.

Solution

Omron offers vision systems that recognize the position of alignment marks or edges with a special algorithm. For instance, the colour filter makes the contrast clear between mark and background, so an unclear mark can be recognized.

Ethernet, serial I/F, USB or parallel I/F are available to send the measured data to motion control equipment.
