Pallet ID

Challenge

When products or parts are conveyed on pallets in an assembly line, the pallet can contain product information, such as an indication of the process, inspected data and lot number, etc. At each process station, each product has to be extracted and classified by the product’s information.

Solution

Omron offers RFID systems with a frequency that conforms to the global standard of 13.56MHz. The ID tags have a large memory, large capacity to rewrite, are resistant to harsh environments and come in compact packages. Therefore it is possible for an ID tag to carry instructions for the production. It also simplifies any changes to the production plan. Omron has a fixed and hand-held reader/writer available that enables flexible management while allowing local reading of processed information in attached ID tags.
